| wow Thought he was going to do something mean to her, like sell her into slavery or demand something from her. The mark on my face is still red where this story slapped me. i am curious as to where the inspiration for this story came from. it started out so close to home. wishing, wanting, needing, and then the fantasy; having. if there is an afterlife, and there is an "up", i pray i am lucky enough to go there. For such a short story, this one relays so much and pulls so many strings. the emotion in it without the tg aspect is enough to pull heart strings. this just hit so close to home. "Afterlife?" "Sure, honey. You died in the bathtub..." Thank you, Carrie, for such a wonderful story! Hope to see more from you! |

| I have hoped that someone else would post a rebuttal to this review. However, that seems unlikely after this long. I chose to write a fantasy. Real life is rarely enjoyable or anything similar to what we hope for. Who, after all, can successfully pass for a woman (except for a woman)or can afford perfect plastic surgery to make it possible. What we, as readers, are looking for is an enjoyable story that wraps around our personal fantasies. If we can identify with a character, be it a TV or Zorro, then we enjoy the story and have a few minutes away from our own more mundane lives. I don't know about all of you, but I'm really not interested in reading a "how to" story. I want to see what some other person thinks is possible. If we all had to stick to strict fact, there would be damn few stories about little boys going to Auntie's for a makeover or to a mysterious place where we're held in bondage while we are put into perpetual prostitution. At least that doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. Amy Brett |
