OMG! I’m like one of your other fans and did a fist pump when Stevie busted his nose! A bunch of Harveys and deserve what they get. Loved how the old man took charge and told Kate to shut up and listen. Not Kate’s finest hour, but she is Kate and the matriarch. Too bad she couldn’t be more of a mom sometimes. I concur with another fan, Gerri should get some training in self defense so he’s not in fear all the time. Stevie may not be around when he’s shopping or taking Mila for a stroll in the park. Standing‘O’ Clara. Bravo!

Nano is quite an accomplishment. It was so compelling I read it right through despite having other things to do. It hit a cord in me, grabbed me right away, and dragged me right along with its well-paced action. And the whole time I was reading I had a feeling of disquiet. At first it was due to the story itself. But once I understood what the story was really about it had a different cause. I'll get to that below. Nano is not just a story. It is nothing less than exploration of the nature of submissiveness. What an ambitious undertaking! And it did all sorts of things to meet the challenge it set for itself. The clever plot went all the right places, putting its heroine, Anne Marie, into the situations that would permit her to try to understand her own needs and reactions. The individual scenes were well done and I had the palpable sense that I was there, sometimes aroused by what might happen, but more often uncomfortable because my submissive drives are nowhere near as intense as Anne Marie's. When would she say enough? When would she rebel? But would an intensely submissive person ever say enough? Or, like her sometimes guide, Natalie, would Anne Marie seek opportunities with ever more intense masters to explore and revel in her own nature. Nano is very well constructed. The progression of events is logical and Anne Marie was consistent through out, doing only those things that made sense in the context of her personality (wherever it came from). The ending was perfect. But in the end, and this is the second source of my disquiet, we never really did get to learn what was in it for Anne Marie. She sometimes told us what she wanted and needed, but despite Alyssa's strong narrative skills and easy to understand writing, and despite the good deal of time we spend inside Anne Marie's head, we never do find out why she was so drawn to her life and why it was so rewarding for her. Perhaps it's not totally fair to ask for such a revelation for two reasons. First, Anne Marie did note in passing that she was sexually aroused by what was going on. So maybe that was it. If so, I guess my complaint is that Alyssa never convincingly demonstrated that was the case, or why the unfulfilled sexual yearnings that seemed a constant part of Anne Marie's life were crucial for her sense of identity and feelings of well being. Second, perhaps Anne Marie never knew herself. Perhaps she just knew what she needed, but not why or what it did for her except that it worked. Alyssa showed us what that was, demonstrating its pervasiveness and intensity through the narrative, and I suppose I should be happy, delighted even, to have gotten that much. What Alyssa has given us, and we should be grateful for it, is a well described submissive who is in the process of discovering herself. We get to go along for the ride. What we discover is that she is so deeply submissive she can't live without it. This, I think is a special accomplishment no matter how much more I might want. But I do want more (I know, I'm selfish). I still want to know what is in Anne Marie's submissive soul that drives her to surrender her freedom, demean herself, and deny her own importance as a human being. And I don't want you simply to tell me that it makes her cunt drip (BTW, this is an R or X rated story at most - there is no hard core sex). I want to feel how she feels. I want to know the delicious frustration she claimed to experience when she got fucked, but her master managed to do it without ever touching her clitoris and giving her release. I know, that's a tall order. The problem is, Alyssa has accomplished so much in this story that she made me think she would deliver everything, including the fiery soul inside the narrative that would have made Nano not just very good, but superb. Perhaps one day Alyssa will deliver that as well. It sure seems like she has the skills. But for now, Nano was a damn good story. Go read it and discover that for yourself.

I'm rather surprised to see this pathetic, feeble, and self-possessed attempt at poetry still on this list when there are much better examples of writing to be found, especially the new work by Ellie and Anne-Mal that really does Moore's work justice. Don't bother reading this twaddle; read theirs instead!

Fantastic work! I doubt Wies, Hickman, or Salvatore could do better (for those who don't know, they are responsible for the Dragonlance series and Dark Elf series), and I hope you add more! Thanks for a great story!
