| I see what you're trying to do but I'm not sure it all makes sense. While there are people with PhD understandings of nanotechnology, nobody has the understanding of nanotechnology to make a Borg. And most people who know that diamonds are made of carbon still couldn't tell you its crystal structure, aren't gemcutters and don't know how to cut the diamond so it looks good, etc. If I was a mechanic, I could tell you how a car operates, but I still wouldn't know all the engineering details, down to the fractions of an inch, that would actually be necessary in order to build a car from scratch. Even turning someone into a centaur doesn't mean that the user knows the internal anatomy of a horse or has some idea how to connect it to that of a human. It is necessary, for the MAU to work at all, that the user only have to know things to a limited level of detail. |
