A delightful trip down memory lane. The period details are great. Hard to believe that there was a time when wearing "foundation garments" was a required part of a lady's wardrobe. Nowadays, about the only place you encounter them is on a fictionmania-type site. I'm afraid that hose, especially stockings, may be headed that way too- a lot of younger women absolutely refuse to wear them. Oh well... changing times... One minor historical quibble- Harve makes reference to the "recent tragic death of John F. Kennedy." In fact, Kennedy was still very much alive in the summer of 1963- Harve ought to remember that, since Kennedy had visited England just a few weeks before the time of the story. Anyway, please keep up the (nostalgic) good work. |

While I can't speak for the management I do feel that given RL's contribution to the site, (26 stories /w TG content) that posting 4 stories, all clearly marked as both misc and TG-free is not the HUGH injustice that people are making it out to be. I could see if, for example, _I_ were to post a story completely devoid of any TG content, that, having never successfully completed let alone posted a story, were be denied. It gives the author a chance to share a small selection of their work that doesn't involve have [Protagonist A] making a mistake involving [Plotdevice B] and ending up [another gender | crossdressing].Misc stories are just that, stories that don't fit into the other categories. It should be a section where prolific authors who have contributed so much would be able to share a small piece of their unrelated work. I'm not saying that FM become a hugh clearing house of fiction in general. I'm saying that RL was given the nod from on high. If you want to flame, flame high! Just remember the task force are volunteers and owe you no service when the flames fall back down.RL: This seems like an older fic than your more recent work but it does show an improvement over My Wife as A Dog. (I'm hoping it was writen after :) ) |

The flashback method is okay in principle, but the beginning is handled too clumsily here. We're in aflashback ("only yesterday I was..."), and then we jump forward to the girl-fleshed hero(ine) who'sbeen remembering that first day from about two years later. I'd start with at least a couple paragraphswith the older version looking in the mirror or whatever, then jump back to the first day. Also watchthe tenses. Otherwise a good job. I like how small the girl is, like in the recent story "The Little Woman,"and I hope the trend towards small or average-sized women (and that includes average figures) goes on. |

You know what I love about this whole series? Brett found the fulfillment he was clearly seeking by throwing away everything so many would aspire to. Only when he gave into his deeper, better instincts and became an ordinary, feminine working woman, no ridiculous drag queen exaggerations or anything, but the kind of everyday female all around society, he finally found his real self and real, fulfilling romance, with a bit of gentle femdom fun to spice it up. Beautiful story. |

Dear A.W.,Thank you so much for yet another wonderful story in which the heroine is an adorable, and lucky, retro girl - or traditional woman. Your way with words is amazing; the description of the details of Laine's first venture out to pick up the mail is incredible, as is the scene in which Ted dresses Laine in total "femme fatale" black, including tightening her corset, to then make love to her.By the way, being a very traditional t-girl myself - you'd never see me wear anything but real stockings, I can really identify with Laine and her character.Best wishes,Beverly |
