| Some delay in getting to read this Boy's Own Paper ripping yarn, but it is as splendid as Natasha's other stories. I know a lot of the background from my own reading, and weaving a story to include real-life incidents and organisations makes for a great read. I was surprised at the early discovery and was expecting a little subtle sleuthing from Ginny, but it worked as it is. I did read of an ATA pilot delivering a Lanc on her own, with no engineer, as Ginny has. When she got out, the RAF personal searched the aeroplane for the concealed (male) pilot. I haven't checked, but I don't think there were any Spitfires stationed on Malta in 1940. The island was defended by 3 Gloster Gladiators famously named Faith, Hope and Charity. (for those who don't know, Gladiators were the last biplanes used by the RAF and so hardly a match for Me109s or Fokker 190s) Loved it. Thanks. |
