| My mother dressed me as a girl until I was around two years old when my grand father took me to the barber shop and got me a boys hair cut. He was the only male presence in my life. It really upset my mother. From then on I was dressed as a male. My mother displayed pictures of me as a girl in our home until I finally rebelled and told her to put the picture away or I would destroy them. I was in grade school and I didn't want my friends to realize the pictures were of me. To this day I wonder what that early experience did to me and how it shaped who I am. I don't know if I read stories here because of what she did or because they relate to who I really am. Thank you for the story it really resonated with me. |
