| This story is one of your finest, Jena. I really like the way that you are bringing Corinne along. As Cory is expressing, this is a scary time. Cory is keeping one toe in the 'I'm really a boy' pool, while the the rest of Corinne is excited about going to the Barbie blowout. While the real Corinne is thrilled with the hormones, dresses, nails, makeup, etc., the old Cory side doesn't want to jettison her escape parachute just yet. Then there is dad. The angst, the foil for everything boyish. But even dad showed disappointment in the old Cory. How can he possibly object to the new Corinne? Pretty, dedicated to doing better with her studies, and about to shatter the gender lines in baseball. Thanks for posting this Jena. This was a long chapter and thoroughly appreciated. :DD TAF |
