| I read your story before, but I've been on a fantasy kick lately, and after I re-read, I noticed I hadn't left a review! (Sorry!) So anyways, this was a lot of fun. I especially like how mortal and human everyone is, even Calimsar (spelling?). Nothing says world balance like a demigod being put down by werewolves. Related to that, I like the feeling of loss. The heroes don't win all the time, they get hurt, and someone stops to ask 'maybe we shouldn't just kill everything that moves?' Maybe this is related to the 'higher self' theory? What if I were a goblin in another world? Hmm... I can't help but wonder if that's why Nightshade died. Was she too busy arguing with her other self to hear them? One thing that DID bother me is the lack of connection to old world. The game store doesn't make a reappearance, and except for a few school scenes, no one seems to work or do anything other than hero in another world. Lastly, while I liked the idea of Carl and a new party, still working for his homeworld, it feels like this story isn't done. What about the orc princess and her fights? The half-elf in the lands of the barbarian nomads? What is Phil doing in all this (if she was amrt, he'd be one of her chief councillors or spymasters). Still, lots of fun, thanks! |
