| well, I should mention I really liked this story. it was well written very descriptive and made some insiteful points. on the other hand the character of the wife hindered the story development for me. from what I know of abused wives from TV movies :) none would likely become greater bullies given the opportunity to swap like this. I kept waiting for her to say he was punished enough and start treating him better. and there were flashes of this starting to happen, but then it went back to her being abusive again. I wanted her to go off to his job and come back to find the house empty and the bank accounts cleaned out. instead, he put up with it just like she did. neither character seemed to grow much. in fact he reverted to being abused like someone did to him in his youth. more should have mentioned about this by the way. a confession to her about his childhood and her reaction would have been more interesting even if she got mad and hit him for taking it out on her. at least the status quo would change. Basically they swap minds and nothing changes in this story. and that's the problem. I wanted something to happen and nothing did. Maybe that happens in real life but in a story, I expect a bit more, either for good or for bad. Maybe a second look at these people a few weeks later when he is fed up with her abuse and does something about it, or she lightens up and forgives him might be in order. Reading the story was still fun though, a tribute to your storytelling abilities to turn a story in which nothing really happens into an interesting, if flawed read. Sorry for the less than glowing review but since you had 3000 reads and no reviews, I figured even this one might be welcome. :) I did admire some of it and, as always, I look forward to your next story with great anticipation. |

| I read this a few days ago offline, and I decided I had to come back to add a review. It's really good. I love how the role-reversal is done. Great to see the girl's side of things for a change. My favorite part was when the guy and the girl are having sex, and the guy realizes that he's so much weaker than his wife that she's controling the sex! Hahaha! That was a great scene. Leviathan |
