You’re a very small person, and possibly a racist, and very intimidated by Skyler’s presence. So you’ve got to mess with her head. (Don’t forget Reggie and Jenny’s warning: Don’t leave anything unguarded.) Guess what private hotel Alan is going to be catering at tomorrow night? I’m just guessing, really. But he could become an important ally if things get rough. And get a hug and kiss on the cheek from Sky. Aside from that: give up, dude, you’re not gonna get the girl. Maybe one of her sisters, though. Or…Is there any way to get Lynn into the audience? I’m working out a conspiracy, but I should probably MYOB. This is good though, Skyler having a friendly, easy relationship with a guy. And having all three of them interacting as friends. As noted, this could be very important tomorrow. Lynn is feeling doubly sorry, because she probably spilled the beans, which led her horrid father to start the campaign that’s going on. Wonder if she’s got a few bruises, maybe a black eye today. Will she be looking for a place to live? I think her employer might lend a hand again. Or a co-worker’s family? Restraining orders are pretty much just a piece of worthless paper unless the villain actually does something violent, going by what we keep hearing time and again on the news. By then it’s too late. Why do I think Sgt. Tony is going to be at the front of the mob at the Ansonia tomorrow? The chief is trying to hold things together, much as Jenny is. Don’t let the bad guys win! That’s what they’re counting on. After all, trans-girls are just a bunch of weak sissies. Up until a few years ago, the trans and gay communities have held each other at arm’s length for a long time. Back in the 80’s, when we were reorganizing an existing open group in Chicago, our first president, a trans-man, insisted we needed to work with the gay community, quoting a famous phrase from the American revolution. “We can all hang together, or we’ll all hang separately.” Then, looking down at his inseam, “Of course, some of us don’t hang at all.” Yes, he did say that. That’s one of the reasons I loved him. Then we all went to the bar for more drinks and forgot all about it. So now they’re coming for us again. All of us. Congratulations, Skyler. You’re a trans girl. Hanna is so proud of you. Uncle Bill is proud of you, as are your Mom and sisters. So tell us, Uncle Bill, what do you and Mom know about your brother that’s been kept secret all these years? Oh, and angels don’t generally wear slinky black gowns. But I can imagine two college girls going at it like devils when this is all over. Or maybe rabbits? :) That was a hard but great read, Clara, moving from hilarious to blood-boiling. Loved every word. |
