A Model's Possession     Details
Just a note: In the spring of 2000, in an effort to make my stories more reader friendly, I enlisted the help of Constance Grant to edit my stories. Regretable, Connie has suffered some medical problems which prohibited her from continuing at the time being Recently, having already posted MA 4 to Crystal's Story, I enlisted Steve Zink to edit the remaining three installments of Magician's Assistant. So hopefully, some of the more negative aspect of my stroies will become more reader friendly in the future. What I would appreciate in future is examples of how one might go about improving the dialogue portions of my stories. Telling me that people just don't talk that way I have my characters do, that people don't use cliches or go off on tangents or grope for words is at best nebulous. If I had examples, I might be in a better position to more adequately address the problem(s) that seem to irk some of you so much. You see, it has been my experience that some people do talk much the way my chacaters do. I have known people that cannot say a complete sentence without inserting a curse word into it. Others, use far to many acronyms which makes them sounds as if they are speaking in some strange langaguge. And still others, talk more in phrases than in actual sentences. Many cannot complete a thought before they're off on another tangent. One friend of mine is a real live, walkin', talkin' thesaurus. Another habitually gets halfway through a sentence and stops - gropes - and then continues on to finish their thought. Again, along with your complaints and suggestions, I ask for tangible examples of how to make my work more reader friendly. Perhaps, some of you would volunteer to edit my work prior to its' posting. Magician's Assistant 4: Car Conversation     Details
This revised story really hits home. Although a similar incident happened to me re a child, I can relate to this. It angers you. So where can you go: 1. follow what you have laid out, he does what she wants. 2. he runs to his parents and they help, but she can trace him 3. he finds a place out of state so he an start over, but not before continuing on 4. he fake it with a doctors connivance misleading Nadine I would no matter what happens, his ex gets her come- uppance. The children grow up to like him no matter what and do they seek some revenge? Another suggestion, he gets to know his neighbour better and thet stsrt a realtionship with him as a wowan peranntly ot temporaily. Hope this helps, thanks.
