| My favourite SRU story to date. I thought the twists and turns, where the guy ends up getting stuck, were enjoyable and the characterisation was excellent. Most of all though, the understated humour that pervaded this tale made it stand out for me. Most of the SRU stories tend to have a jokey premise where the victim gets tricked in one way or the other, but the way the final joke unfolded was superb. I have never written in the SRU universe, felling that - in general - they tend to be very formularic and predictable. This story, although set in SRU, was never dominated by it- it stood in its own right. If I ever wrote in SRU it would have to be like this. Thanks for the story. |
