Nice and sweet story. Sounds like the two found themselves. Thanks.

I really liked this story, I do however have a couple of points of criticism, mainly having to do with part one. first, when Glen goes to the doctor to have his 'defect' fixed, the doctor simply goes ahead and does it without thought. This just doesn't feel right. Even simple cosmetic surgery requires some consultation with the patient, and anything that requires genetic manipulation to effect permanent physical changes (assuming that anything can be considered permanent in a world like this) would require at least a psychological screening. What the doctor was doing is in my mind equivalent to mutilation. I don't believe that any legal medical procedure would be carried out in such a blase manner. If anything like this was possible in this world, that doctor would've lost his licence faster than you can blink. Not to mention that in the states people are more inclined to sue, and that it really doesn't matter if the parent's approved the change in such a case, all that would matter is if the doctor handled in good faith (which he certainly didn't). Secondly, if the conrad sequence is regulated like guns, then why would a doctor's office be equipped to insert it using nothing more than a simple standardised form. At the very least the computer handling the procedure would have to have some sort of official authorisation, if only a 'are you sure you want to insert the conrad sequence?'. thirdly, if people were truly not allowed to be in groups merely because of their powers, I think you would have a revolution on your hands. It seems a basic violation of human freedom, and furthermore such laws would only encourage more people to band together to fight an oppresive system. It seems more realistic to assume that people would be given the freedom to decide for themselves, and that only when illegal action is taken would there be need to step in. Anyway, what if IBM (for example) had 2 enhanced employees. Sure its a big company, but you weren't allowed to have more than 2 in an organisation. It wouldn't be able to hire a third. This leads all sorts of employment problems. Lastly, you sort of implied that if people had certain powers they could be forced by the government to work for them. This would definately undermine itself, because you are going to get a lot of unwilling participants. My question is, where are the anarchists, liberals and other people who believe in freedom and human rights?

Continuing "Nancy"'s line of thought...If Brainy is going to stay a girl, as "Brainygirl", or"Brainyette", or whatever, shouldn't he/she be able to borrow Smurfette's clothes, including her dear, dainty, precious little panties? I should think Smurfette would jump for sheer joy at the thought of a real Smurf girlfriend her own age to share clothes and good times with.
