| I liked the story a great deal. I especially loved the slow, delicious transformation of Larry...the small details and Larry's denial of what was happening to him. I must echo Jed's comments on the punishment of Jeff. The transformation into a hooker is nearly a cliche', though changing his race added something to it. Yes, far better to do something unexpected to this genre - make Jeff into an average, no, unattractive woman with a chance, however slim, to redeem her/himself in time. |

| wow, I get to be the first again. Well, I thought I should write since I had mixed feelings, which is always interesting I think. I found it hard to read beyond a certain point because the pain aspect exceeded the pleasure. Now, I know that this is mostly subjective, yet perhaps, not entirely. Though, perhaps much of it is cultural. I'm referring to how we interpret pain and pleasure. I myself, have a sharp and intense interest in certain sex scenes with torture, so I look for ways in which other stories are alike and different from my own fantasies. Then again, with pain especially, it should definitely be noted that many pain fantasies don't work in reality at all. I like the idea of extreme helplessness bordering on pain... the intensely overwhelming undeniable threat of it. And then, I like little jabs of actual pain to insure the reality of the threat. Or lower levels of more sustained pain which may be tolerated longer. I love the idea of the straps and satins of sensuous clothing being worn while the frilly victom is controlled, made helpless, driven to utter frustration and resigned surrender. I also like the methods of electricity and drugs (fictionalized to obtain methods of complete control not allowed by reality and nature). I also like the idea of controlling the mind, so that it is forced to conjur all kinds of images of people, animals, wilderness etc which stimulate powerfully biologically engrained fear reactions from millions of years of evolution. But, I also like the rescue, the helpless victom's escape into love at the hands of her tourmentor. So, I like the drug idea, the extremeness, but then there's no end to it.. as far as I could read.. so, I don't like that. I also didn't like that there wasn't much clothing or control involved. It's far too mechanical and impersonal for me. I liked that you took an awkward idea and turned it into something with so much consistency and substance as a story with plot and elaborate description. You have a pretty good method for making darkness into a picture of the mind. But, I would like to see more human investment.. more of an emotional connection to the character involved, not just an overriding control of their biological functions. After all, controlling the mind is the pathway to controlling the body. It may work in reverse as well I'm sure, and maybe if I read more, I'll discover this, but I guess that it just got a bit too carried away for me to believe that further investment of my time would be fruitful. Anyway, congrats on trying to write about torture in some kind of a sensuous way. It's not always such a popular subject, so you have guts. peggie |

| It would have been better if Pollie remained married to Emily and simply was conditioned to accept the proper role of a manwom. Emily the wom would wear the pants and take the initiative in sex and everything else in their relationship. The world in which they lived would have been altered in this manner as well. The substance of the story would be in revealing all the various "adjustments" that Pollie made in his new life as Emily's housebound. His wife would naturally help him to realize how a manwom should behave in their culture--after she got home from work. Is anyone up to developing the story along such lines? I wouldespecially be interested in seeing how the loving couple's sexual life is transformed. Since the manwom loves his wife, there will bew no homosexuality, but the development of a healthy and happy sexual and personal relationship between a wom and her housebound. There is no need to make a caricature. Just a depiction of the "normal" lives of this couple and their various friends and associates should prove quite interesting for most fictionmania fans.
