| Over the course of many stories, the author has proven that she can write one-sided dialog between a dominant, usually psychopathic woman and her pathetically weak, passive, stupid male. If the reader imagines him or herself as a dominant female or a submissive male, the writing is good enough to be pulled into one or the other role. For most everyone else, it's soul-deadening. This story is fairly typical. It's not really a story because the protagonist is, once again, a simpering idiot who is incapable of anything more than pathetic protests. Once again, we're along for the ride as a dominant female first castrates her guy, then betrays him, and then makes plans for him to be someone's little bitch. The author is skilled enough to wish that she would branch out into stories with conflict, real characters that the majority can identify with, and a satisfying (to most) ending, but that may be too much to hope for. |

| This story started out great and kept me with it the whole time. Sure, there are some flaws, like lack of motivation from the step-mom, and the twins' complacence right from the beginning, but it does captivate. In my opinion, the story seems to be treading water right now. I think the second branch woud be the better one. It would give Laurie a more human feeling, which I feel is needed, and there are already two evil bitches in the story already. I think you should also maybe delve into why Terrie is torturing the children, and maybe create a feeling of urgency for the characters (through school starting soon, or Terrie scheduling an appointment to make permanent changes to the two. That way the twins (with Laurie or not) would be brought out of their complacent monotony of accepting everything and just going with the flow. Another Idea I had would be to have the twins slowly realize how much better the other one had it before all of the changes, and realize they envied the other. This would explain why they allowed themselves to get into such a crappy situation. Finally, I think a happy ending, where they turn the tide on Terrie and her evil assistants would be the best, whether the twins decide they prefer their lives as they are, or decide to return to normal. Those are just my suggestions, but it's your story, so the choice is up to you. |

| Thanks for the great story. I really got into it. I must admit I was a little turned off when the lead character was "fixed-up" with the father of a former friend (a little too weird for my tastes). But, you've written such a great story, I read it again and have decided to trust you that the story will win me over, again. |

| Alyssa, Well done! Nicely written story, which you managed to wrap up in one chapter! I know a lot of people here, and elsewhere, who wish their lives could be so lucky as to happen this way...unfortunately life isn't like that, and families aren't always as sanguine about being so accepting. Kinda wished you'd stretched out the portions at the end of the story into equally-well written but more detailed "parts" as sequels, etc., but I also appreciate the value of a well-written short story as well...more immediate satisfaction!
