| Sharon's Ring - Chap. 1-3 Details |
| I had mixed feelings about this story. On one hand, clearly it's in the top tier of Fictionmania stories, with more the feel of a Jack Chalker book than a cranked-out pornography. I plan to read the author's other story, and keep an eye out for any more. On the other hand, I couldn't shake the feeling that this story didn't really have a payoff. The plot had its cool twists and turns, but was too loose to really hold interest. The characters were interesting archetypes, but they never really developed beyond that, and it was easy to get tired of them. The story had its sexiness - but I wanted more. I don't mean physical description, I don't think it was important to the story (and despite the XXX rating, I thought it more of an R). I more mean that how characters look, and what they think of the situation they're in, the embarassment of being controlled to be sex objects, are so lightly touched on. For instance, upon transformation, the main character has about five lines of getting wigged at her clothes, and one line of physical description. I know it's a cliche but it's also (probably) a necessary part of TG fiction. |
