Random Reviews

I find the initial premise for this story SLIGHTLY cliche.Having that out of the way,a reader must remember that it is what the writer does with the premise that makes the story a worthy effort. I think this an engaging and interesting tale. All the characters seem well developed and their actions and reactions seem very genuine. The James/Jamie and Amy characters have the small flaw of being just a tad naive;but I think that has more to do with the initial premise than the writer not developing them correctly. The plot and storyline are good but the pace could be a bit swifter,we really don't need to know EVERY time Jamie showers or a detailed menu of all her meals(It's an implied fact of life that she does these things.).A closer use of the red pencil by the editor would be helpful in alleviating this issue.I don't want to be a pain; but use Spellcheck ,PLEASE! I realize that in transcription errors do creep in; but again proofreading and editing please. So many of these stories have that flaw!(I understand that many authors are amateurs. That they are learning to be the professionals they can become with the proper effort. That is why reviews and critiques are important to help them develop their skills. An example to emulate would be my favorite author in this genre, Vickie Tern.)The MOST engaging feature of this story is the genuine feel of the participants and the emotion captured in the tale by the writer.I can actually FEEL the pain of James/Jamie and Amy and the rest of the cast as the tale unfolds.I think the author must have a very intimate knowledge of what transpires.(Not that it is autobiographical;but certainly a depth of knowledge that He/She used as a resource.Very real!!)All three segments of this series combine to form a credible and enjoyable read(Though the third felt a tad rushed as the notes by the author seem to indicate.)I do sense some unfinished business for Jamie and hope that in the near future the author sees fit to give her some closure.(I hope that it includes a happy ending as I feel the character deserves this;even though we all know in reality this is usually not the case.Just call me sentimental.)To sum up(I'm wordy,I know!)this three part (So far!)serial is a VERY GOOD effort by the author that I would recommend to fans of this genre but also to "outsiders" as I think it might enlighten them and increase their empathy for us and our world.

Excellent story! The best from Chilli yet, IMHO. I think the transformation sequence was great and really original. The ending pun was priceless! Three thumbs up (two's not enough!)

I liked the story. However, it seemed rushed to get to an ending. I would liked to have seen it played out a bit longer. Indeed, I would love to see more of this story ala sequel as well! A very good job and thank you! :-P -- Bad Irving

A nice, gentle sotry for All Souls Day. Like other reviewers, I do think the story could have been fleshed out more. Maybe some scenes ab both Jeff's old and new schools, maybe he tries out for the basketball team, but his heart isn't in it. Or a girl at school has a crush on him, but he doesn't want to be with her, he wants to BE her. Just some ideas. The tale as written was good.

I enjoyed this story, and I am glad it was self contained, despite being marked as Part 1. I can't really see it going anywhere for futures parts; now that the transformation is complete it'll just be the adventures of a girl and her pink car. Unless the same thing happens to any passengers...
