Ellie, in spite of a few typos, this story was SOLID. I like the potential for redemption. I can't agree with another poster that the punishments were too soft. I keep thinking how overlooked the trauma of changed realities would be for an actual person. At least Chloe gave them a set of pointers as a heads up to what they CAN be. One path leads to an 'as is' acceptance. The other, requires effort and work but leads to (hopefully) a far richer life than they could have as males, even. I think reducing the IQ of the drug maker, permanently, was needed cruelty. It put the spotlight on WHY this was done and how vunerable they were to the whims of Chloe's magick and anger AND highlighted the fact that they WERE being given the chance of redemption. I *do* feel that hitting the new woman with *twins* was a touch excessive w/o showing that there were pregnancies caused needing Karma balencing. I know Sue/Stu was previosly the *one* pregnant, but *twins* still seems a bit much. In the earlier reality, 'he' had honest doubts about being the father--and was honest with wanting to get rid of 'the sprout'. While this is hardly the attitude to brag about, neither is it evil or bad unto itself. Had 'he' been colder to Sue...Still, I wouldn't see it wrong if it was known that Sue had been carrying twins or if he'd gotten an additional woman pregnant.I don't see the various punishments as THAT outre', just saying I'd draw the line differently. While the ending doesn't say, I'd like to think that Chloe will check in on them. As to the other 2 sisters, I know you used them to voice or show the other possible extents and types of reactions and punishments that were possible, w/o needing Chloe to express the extremes while acting the moderate. This is more realistic--though I'm surprised they didn't show up at the get together. One other point, the story doesn't say it, but I wonder what the odds are that a Witch would get involved accidently--yet if she KNEW (say from mind reading) and set herself up as bait, then it'd been a nice touch to indicate that she'd been either patrolling as a protector or had been tipped off in someway by one of the earlier victims--say a friend's memory gap or odd behavior.Sorry for the nit picking.BBBrett |

That's a good piece of work there. I haven't read too many better. However, I'd like to see exactly what happens to 'Tina'. Is she going to be rented out like good ole Jim? |
