| I like all Brian's stories and this is no exception. Although, unlike one of the other reviewers I also enjoy magical transformation tales, I also have a very soft spot for the more naturalistic ones. Of course, like all TG stories we are asked to suspend our disbelief somewhat, the story line is entertaining and credible. I rather liked the news quotes interspersed in the text and found it interesting that most of them occurred in the 8th year of the respective decade. Just one factual critism - Halloween never falls in March. All Hallows Eve (Hallowe'en) always precedes All Saints Day and the dates are always 31st October and 1st November. I'm not at all religious (quite the reverse) just a niggler :-). I'm glad that this story is at last completed and I'm looking forward to the next from this excellent writer. Geoff |

| A truly great story, with an original means of causing the transformation. The writing itself was excellent. However, perhaps it would have been interesting if the reason for the changes was not said straight out. The ending was mildly predictable, but still fufilling; it was the correct conclusion to the story. All in all, a great tale. |

| Short stories like this have a problem conveying the feeling and texture the longer stories have. that is not true in this case. I felt myself in the shop with the old wizrd when our young future witch came in. I agree with Steve Zink. It would be nice to see more of this witch and her future adventures. But that is easy, you just need to write them. Please do. |
