| Very nice story. If there's one thing I really love about this story it's the way the past and present have been woven together from the very start to the incomplete end. Foreshadowing is a really powerful technique and I was hooked right from the beginning by the promise of finding out what an elf and a human could possibly have in common. The portrayal of the elves as being more human (in the good way) than most of the real humans is also quite intriguing. Alas, given the fact that have 4 years have past without an update I'm probably sol out of luck as far as getting another chapter of it, but what the heck, I sure enjoyed the ride I got. |

| Great story. I enjoyed it a lot. I am curious though, if this story means that "Legacy universe" characters no longer consider killing to be Taboo. I don't recall reading about so much killing in a Legacy story before. This is definitely more realistic than a imprisoning killers, but it seems like a change in policy for the series in general. I would've done the same things as the Sanction heroes did; I'm just wondering if this universe will continue with this much bloodier and more mature tone. Maybe I'm just remembering the other stories wrong, the stories are spaced very far apart, but I think this one was different. Anyway, I've never been in the military, nor have I ever seriously considered it, but this story seemed to deal pretty realistically with the military mindset and perspective on things. It seemed very insightful to a civilian like myself. How do you prepare for a project like this? Do you watch a lot of war movies? PTSD books? War Biographies? Did you serve in the military? I can't wait to see the Nevermore plot finally emerge. If the teasers drag out for much longer, I'm worried that my expectations will become too high even for a Morpheus story to live up to. Anyway, great story, thanks for sharing it with us! |
