One writer I know of had a suggestion for that: when life is hectic, take those five or ten minutes a day when you have a momentary breath of freedom and jot down a few sentences, or paragraphs. Ten minutes a day with a notebook is 300 minutes (or 5 hours in a month. One widely read non-fiction writer, interviewed repeatedly on Public Television, the Longshoreman philosopher Eric Hoffer, did the bulk of his innitial writing at work on the docks.
