| While I wouldn't call Ovid 18 the best of the Ovid series, it is still an excellent story from what I consider the best author on this site. The Professor combines a very interesting story with a keen knowledge of the area he writes about and usually spices it with just the right mix of curiosity, purient interest and technical complexity. I know from experience that stories that entail a complex 'world' like that of Ovid are difficult to tell since there is so much to keep track of and the solid following the series enjoys includes plenty of readers with powerful memories that can make even minor mistakes seem like glaring errors. I agree that perhaps these macho warriors just seemed to concede to thier fate a bit too quickly and easily. Perhaps it might have made for a slightly better story if there was at least a little more intercommunication or 'story' between the newly transformed 'ladies' and the existing young and old, male and female residents of Ovid, though that is just personal taste. Mostly, The Professor reaches a reasonable compromise between lots of detail and interaction (like I prefer) and that "lets get on with the story" concisness that some others prefer. Thank you once again Professor. |
