| Delightful story, funny & light hearted - good feelt\ for the characters & the island. I'm suprised more stories haven't been writen about Gilligan's island - after all there was body swaps & TG on the show itself. I wish there had been more complications - like Gilligan wanting to keep Ginger's indentity & turn her into him or mrs Howell doing the same to Mary Ann but that's my own twisted nature I guess. One minor point I don't think Mary Ann had enough motivation to share her body & identity with Mrs Howell |

| This was an excellent beginning to what could easily become an excellent novel. The grammar was bad, but you already explained that and I'm sure it will be damn near immaculate in the next section. This is sooo Heinlein. It's a fine combination of "Farnham's Freehold", "I Will Fear No Evil", and maybe some "Glory Road". The feminine alter-ego doesn't work. I know why you threw it in, but the GS universe already has rules. You could easily send in the re-write of part one with the good grammar, get rid of her and hardly anyone would notice. The premise that the police would be after Tom's mother is a bit too farfetched. It would be far too easy for her to prove her new identity. Tom's father would have had an operation done regardless of whether or not his Health Insurance plan was willing to pay for it. As you should know, no one is turned away from emergency health care in the US even if they have no insurance. At worst, they would be transferred to another hospital. I can live with your opinionated comments, much as I wince at some of the thinly-veiled anti-American ones, as it gives Tom some cynicism that is often quite funny and insightful. You have a very fine style that is very entertaining to read -- and that is the point, isn't it? |

You are genuine in your deaing with this topic. The abscensce of the heavy domination or forced aspect to the feminine role is the key to a good and very intriguing story. You seem to have adopted this perspective so the prospects are good. It is always important to recall that men like being men and women lile being women. So, when yu have this fictionalized island the device should be the idea that as he gets sewpt up in how all the boys nad girls enjoy their lives, and they start reacting to him in his new "gender", it beomes more and more easy for him to "go along and discover that he has "become" feminine in his expectations and outlook." That is where yu have the opportunities to explore the nature of femininity. I am confident you wont turn this into "just" a Ohhhh what fun to be dressed so nicely" kind of boring story. Rather, the ordinary and special clothes serve various functions in his new life and purposes in the life rather than being ends in themselves. Displaying that could be delicious. Please let's have more of the superb interaction of boys and girls inthe new reality which you have a real knack for in this story and the recent Canada story. It is very precious for a writer in this genre to recognize the need to treat the characters as real people and not as caricatures. The fantasy would be in seeing the alternative universe as if it were real and natural. Not in making a bizzarro land with unbelievable people. Well done. Looking forward to more. |
