Random Reviews
This story has received some very positive and some very negative reviews and I can understand why. When I first started reading it I was full of hope and even recommended it to others. It was funny and unusual. (I love the Chippets). But the more I read, the less I liked it. This is fiction so anything can happen, but you need your own internal logic and that is lacking. Dane's wife is a lesbian and she susposedly has recreated him as a fulfillment of her fantasies. But no woman alive has had a fantasy like Dane. Women don't want to look like that nor or they particularly attracted to other women who look like that. And who is in charge here? Diane seems to be the ultimate authority. What about the military? What about the CIA, the FBI, the State Department? Where's the chain of command? So what if she is the main scientist on the project? Albert Einstein didn't decide when we were ready to drop the A-bomb did he? Past all that there was too much touchy, feely and passing out from orgasims. I could have done with a lot more interaction between Dane and the general public, that could have lead to some very comic situations. And I'm sure Diane, as brilliant as she is, could come up with an antidote to Dane's addictive nature so she doesn't have to be kept hidden away forever. This is a case where the story had a lot more potential than was used. |

No the story is as told to me so this is either a very fertile imagination or it happened. As for Anne Lawrence, she has enough real life stories like this to back up my claim. It was only after I was told this story that I told the person who had this happen to them about Anne's site and she couldnt believe that there would be others in the same boat as her. |

I really liked this one. It rang a very deep note of resonance within me. It's exactly as you put it, 'same shit, different decade'.I'm a human rights activist myself so your story hits a particularly raw nerve. I fight for the rights of children abused in care or abused because of their sexuality. Things can still get a bit tense out there.Thanks.Beverly Taff |
