| This was a fun story to read and the short segments a tease. I kept checking in for the next installment. I'm with Chrissy's opinion of the ending. We are quite willing to look for another dozen or so chapter. At a birthday or two a week we could be celebrating the hundredth episode in about a year or two. | The good news: the author has an intersting story to tell, and generally, tells it pretty well. Good premise, well described transformation, done primarily in the 'first person', which is appropriate here because the main character is describing what happened to him/her. Now, a bit of the bad news. The fact that this story is told mostly as first person narrative kinda takes away from the fun of reading what happened. In places where the main character is decidedly not alone, it just didn't read well when the author simply tells us what happened, instead of using some well-crafted dialogue with some other character to tell the story and move it along. A good story is a BALANCE of narration and dialogue. This story gets a "B" for effort, and "C-" for actual execution. - Paula |

| The good news is that this is a lot better than Ms Alexander's earlier efforts on StorySite, both grammatically and descriptively. There's still one third-person paragraph ("they" instead of "we") in the midst of this first-person story, but the sentence structure is greatly improved. For a while here, I thought the author had finally broken out of her nasty habit of simply writing a conventional story and reversing all the pronouns, and was actually making an effort to theorize as to what a society with men in feminine roles and physically stronger women in masculine roles would entail. (It can be done; check out "Glory Season" by David Brin for one such scenario.) But no such luck: John's wearing a tight blouse "to show off his cleavage". The story seems pointless if the boys and men who are acting feminine (and those who refuse to do so) have actual female bodies. Eric |
