| With each story of yours i read, Pretzelgirl, i find you a wonderful author! This one is a gem! I particularly enjoyed the rhyming of the tale, paticularly since it's not a short little tale. | An excellent read, although rather dark. Your ability to create characters whom we care about, your ability to inspire emotional response in the reader is quite impressive. A few general comments: You need an editor. There are a number of typos and misplaced or missing words. There are also a few content issues that seem a little out of kilter, which a good editor would also help you catch. I'd also say you should look into getting a literary agent, because I think with a little polish, you're work is generally salable. Even with the TG elements, you might have some fairly mainstream success. The use of the Wizard/SRU story device was interesting too, although also a bit darker than that's usually presented. I'm also a bit curious about your rather decisive use of the Darla character. What I look for most when I come here, are stories like this one, with deep, character driven plots. Stories where an event occurs, and then we get to see the protagonists cope with the results. I can't stand stories where the protagonist abdicates personal responsibility and authority. I want to see characters rise above the adversities they encounter, to become better people, better, stronger adults, in-spite of, if not because of, their circumstances. Once again, thank you, and keep up the good work. |
