| Thanks for the response everyone. :) About the past and present tense issues: While redoing my drafts I ended up switching the tense to past then to present and back again. I just wasn't satisfied with what tense to tell the story in. Originally it was present as this was a muse and a typing exercise to begin with. A typing exercise of, well just typing non stop and whatever came to mind. This story came out from it. I might rework it but I am considering this a benchmark to go from. For the choppiness... I cut a few things out of it and changed many things since I wasn't satisfied with them. This story could have gone on alot more but I became impatient with it and decided to end it sooner than later. I thought this would just end up to be a 15k story but turned out longer and could have gone on even longer. I am working on another story that is centered around the first person perspective on one character. Read some of the works of the author Morpheus, and you will see someone who is a master in telling first person perspective stories. I still have a couple more drafts to go before I will consider my second story 'finished'. A very talented author is currently reviewing it before I finish and post it. Thanks for the responses. |
