| Not the kind of story I usually enjoy, but this one worked for me, despite feeling a bit awkward here and there. (Sorry, all my judgements of this kind are sheer gut feel, so I can't really give specific criticisms.) Just one generic observation... Paradoxically, I find it more realistic if a story which transforms its protagonist into a "real" woman (without disastrous personal/social/work consequences to boot) accepts the facts of life and admits that it is talking magic. This applies to various DNA hand-wavings as much as to plain pills-and-surgery stuff. |

| After reading the story so far I think this man is getting what he deserves for being stupid enough to agree in the first place. His wife is losing her husband and sees only the money so greed has overcome her judgement as well. This guy was well beyond his means when this started. A massive play truck, boat, motorcycle, vacations, etc. All that was necessary would have been to sell off the luxuries, keep the house and save for the kids college BUT NOOOOO..... I read the comments that the percings are over the top but it seems to me your missing the point... Lewis wants him to quit and will take every opportunity to move to extremes and force the issue within the contract (a lawful evil devil if you will) Humiliation is not the issue here it is defeat before the contract ends. In this case I hope the devil wins .. it seems only fitting. And at the moment the devil is waaaaayyy ahead. |
