| Pyrite is one of my favorite authors. That said, this is my least favorite Pyrite story. Though the writing was technically good, the characters were very unsympathetic. All of them were so mean-spirited and/or weak that I really didn't care what happened to any of them. It became a chore to read as each character would come to an important crossroads in the plot and then make the mean or petty decision rather than the noble one.
