Dr. Merrick's Appointment on the Barge     Details
As I've said before the Chardsville cast is great. You'll love this story but make sure you read 'Suize gets even' and 'Leslie' first to better understand the cast. I like the whole story about Leslie finnaly getting a man like Suzie has to love 'her' as a woman. Mel's love is strong and will last them forever. I also like the twist with both Helen and Mel with Mrs Chard and her warming to Mel. I hope to see a fallow up to Chardsville revisted soon to read more about Mel and Leslie honeymoon and if they'll have kids and to see if Leslie get's Joan to join her and Suzie on the protogen treatment. The only sad thing is it seems that our Joanie gets the raw end of the deal as Michael treats her poorly. Also look for MALE-MOTHER to read more about Nancy and her husband Amy. Chardsville Revisited (part1)     Details
I see we both decided to use O Holy Night this season, each in our own genre, fiction and blog. Alas, this is fiction that also happens in real life. There is no fantasy element here. I also faced a day (in my mid-40's) when I found out that a man, who fondled me against my will when I was 17, had been arrested for sexually abusing a minor. I had to make the difficult phone call to the Assistant Distract Attorney to tell her that it had happened to me, too, by this man. As in this story, she told me that the statute of limitations had run out in my case. But she thanked me for coming forward and told me that I could be called as a rebuttal witness if he had claimed that this was the first time. There were two differences from this story. First of all, I had not transitioned yet. Second, there was no need for me to be called to testify. The defendant entered into a plea bargain, which included him being added to the sex offender list. I like to think that my coming forward, perhaps along with others as well, enabled the ADA to present a stronger position in the plea negotiations, perhaps saving the taxpayer's money for the case to need to come to trial. And like Katy, it was a tremendously freeing event that I had never told anyone about. So I understand that it may be from personal experience. But I find Katy a very sympathetic character. And I completely understand her strength and the importance of her personal victory. Justice was served, even if no verdict could be brought in her particular case.
