| Oh, my! Authoress here. I'm blown away by this outpouring of comments on the story's first day! Thank you all so much for taking the time to write! Overall, it seems you prefer covers about maids, '50s housewives, and Lily James' fabulous Cinderella gown. I couldn't agree more. I've started working on Volume 2, and have rough Photoshop drafts of two more covers that already include some of your suggestions. I defend the use of real girls on the cover. They're aspirational models. I want to look like Anne Hathaway, even if I never ever will. In the text, I try to use female celebs to offer advice to TG gurls on how to be more ladylike. Jeanette: Yes, it's a lot of work. I can assemble a cover in a day, but then I tweak it for days afterwards. I spend more time looking for images than writing the text, because readers look at the images before they read the text. p l richards: You win best comment. Exactly! It's a TG spoof of women's mags. Some of the images were hard to read because FM reduced my 700px images to 600px, their standard size. This made the .jpgs slightly blurry. My bad, next batch will be slightly smaller but better. | Hey Rebel, Good Story! I liked the way you used the Twilight Zone theme. I think you did a good job describing the setting and the story is well paced out. I like how didn't reveal too much in the beginning, and made several mysteries and surprises. I have to say once Henry said he didn't have any family I immediately knew what was going to happen to him. On the down side the story came on too strong, and ended too weak. You seemed to be trying like crazy to tie up all the lose end for the end of the story. I did like how the story ended, but I don't think you did as good a job on the ending as I know you can. |
