| First off I'm very sorry that I am only just now reading this story and wouldn't have but for a mention of it on the Hyperboard. Looking through my records I don't think I've ever read anything by The Professor before, probably because he concentrates on sci-fi and fantasy stories and I generally steer away from them in favor of more reality based situations. In this case you very ingeniously put a character stright out of the Twilight Zone into a completely mundane situation to great effect. Your foreshawdowing was superb -- what's that figure in the shadows? Was that a girlish laugh I heard in my room? At first Dannie was like the Pooka in "Harvey". Then she became Billy Mummy in that fabled episode of "Twilight Zone." But, and this is most important, unlike those powerful creatures Dannie actualy changed and matured and developed human feelings for her "victims" and for others. This is one of the most humanistic and positive stories I've ever read in FM. Of course Darla and Sara and the others remain female, that's what happens in stories like this. But this time their acceptance of their fates seems natural, reasonable, not forced. A supreme accomplishment in writing! |

| This is only a subset of the story patterns here, though I can appreciate what Pretzelgirl is saying... I actually wish there were more bimbo transformation stories, cliches be damned. There are also all the blackmail stories, the domination stories, etc. And most importantly of all, there are still original stories being produced all the time, like Suki's "Cyndy Rules" or Carrie Gore's "The Wrong Sister," which break new ground. | Dear Marlissa; This just has to be one of my all time favorites. How many of us wish that someone would take charge of us and force us to live our dreams. The writing is clear and concise. I really enjoy looking at the other girls through Kim's eyes and the way in which they are described. Its interesting how in the beginning, Kim resists the introduction into girlhood and then ends up helping to transform one of the boys and is then cast aside. Keep up the good work.
