| Well. Pamela said that David wasn't a slave, which is kind of true. She'd turned him into something worse- a robot. Going blithely with what anyone in authority suggests, no opinions about anything. James seems to care for his submissive Gina, and I'm hoping that in some sequel or a couple of them (The End? I hope not!) he'll love her enough to be aghast at learning that monstrous thing has been done to her, and that they'll hook up with the right magical people (They're in San Diego after all) and find a way to undo at least the mind control part of the spell, and end up with an actual human to human relationship, maybe a bit ritualistic & submissive like they have now (though it's not really submission without choice, more like programming...), or maybe one that's far more equal in many ways (if James can handle that...); And I'm hoping these magical miscreant will be made to pay for their crimes in one way or another... All of which might sound pretty formulaic, but it's a winning formula that really appeals to me- the transformation aspect, the gratification of justice being wrought & some good old sappy romance. So this story seems like a great beginning. I hope... |
