The Gettysburg Address was also quite short, yet carried a very powerful message. This stands completely on its own as a great story; or it could be the prologue to much more.

I didn't like this story, and I think it's one of an increasing number of stories that don't belong on Fictionmania, since it doesn't deal with any real change in any of the characters. It's a reasonable story and fairly well written, just in the wrong place I think. I await further stories before making a judgement about you as a writer :)

I enjoyed this - it was an unusual twist onto a very familiar theme and was handled very well. I particularly like the fact that the 'victim' was clearly a victim and, as far as you could tell, never came to terms with it. Thanks for the story
