You can be serious Honey? What kind of joke is this expecting me to grow up all over again, and as a girl no less. It's no joke Jack!

I'm kinda of two minds about this story. On the one hand, Adam's family doesn't take much convincing before they believe that he really was cursed and turning into a girl. So does Adam himself, for that matter. They pretty much go, "Come on, you're joking!" and when reassured he's not, they believe him. It hard to believe they'd believe him so soon, well before he changed very much and it was obvious. And the people at the school are also remarkably accepting. Granted, it's been a while since I was in high school, and LGBT issues have made tremendous strides since then (made tremendous strides just in the last few years, for that matter, so don't go trying to date me :P ), so maybe high schoolers are more accepting of such things than they used to be. Still, it strikes me, at least, as stretching credibility that all Amanda got were a couple of snide comments. No threats of violence from gay bashers, no angry accusations, no major problems from teachers (who grew up in less understanding times), no hazing from the girls, no invitations to parties only to find herself the center of a mockfest. Between this and how the family reacted, it kind of is a transgendered high-schooler's dream scenario. Heck, Adam didn't even have to pay for the change, it took only a week or so, and he wound up a fully functional female. Dream scenario, indeed! On the god side, however... it's not too hard to write off the reactions as a side effect of the spell that was cast on him. It doesn't make them forget Adam, it simply makes them accept Amanda more easily. And if you embrace that idea, or if you simply don't mind everyone taking this so well, then the story is really, really well written. The change is nice and gradual, but doesn't drag on forever. Adam has a lot of worries as he changes into Amanda, and not all of them are the simple surface ones like trying to figure out how to act femine, or freaking out when she realizes she suddeny likes boys. Other than the means for the transformation, these are worries that a transgender kid would reasonably have, and I welcomed the look inside her mindset. TL;DR: I really wish Amanda faced a little more resistance from the people around her. It would simply have seemed more realistic to me. But other than that this is a great story. Good job.

Another story that makes women look bad. So much for the argument that they are morally superior to men. This is a story about the abuse of power. They are not doing this to reform him, only to humiliate him and not just temporarily but forever. Joann says she loves him; ha! She's a selfish bitch out for her own pleasure. His Aunt is the worst, though, she is the one who is supposed to be putting his welfare first, but she has perverted the whole concept of petticoating, using it not for redemption and reformation, but for her own selfish pleasure.

Dear Karen, My compliments on "Women's Work". It is one of my favorites! I was wondering if you had any intentions of possibly lengthening it? It seems as though Nancy has room to grow both physically and thouugh her experiences. Just a suggestion... I love your work. Carol

The flow of the story was nicley done. I liked how the reader was given a little back ground into the main character and his desire to lose weight. Lee's being so naive really made this story. It was not until the end did he realize that he was a female. It was interesting to see how well Lee accpeted his transformation into a female. One would think that a guy would be bothered turning into a female and being checked out by another guy. Not Lee. I was left wondering who Dave was. In one paragragh the authur writes that Lee visited Dave. And how Dave tells Lee that his weight loss was amazing. Did the authur make a mistake and write Dave instead of Mike? Keep up the good work Chiara.
