| I'm with seedeedoubleyou, I'm really getting annoyed with writers who let these things happen to their main characters, without the main characters either being able to do anything about it, or not doing anything about it. That just doesn't ring true. If the mother has some specific power that keeps the son from doing something, then *say* that. But its a great leap of faith to ask the reader that someone is unexplainedly powerless to fight back when someone is doing something bad to them. - Paula |
