| I thought I read this story before but I guess not. I like the lighter aspect of halloween. For one night it lets us reach out to something that might have been or may be even might could be. It also wakes us up to some of our own inner voices and needs. The loss the father and daughter have experienced is very poignant. I like how it is expressed in just a few words unlike this review. This is a melancholy story and can evoke emotions in anyone who can empathize with the characters. BTW any chance the Wayfarer Inn will be finished? |

| The good news is that this chapter promises many more, as an interim account of Jennifer's gradual education in the pleasures of domming, of dealing with her moral qualms about humiliating her husband despite his ambivalent erotic need for it, and of overcoming her reluctance to feminize her "Girly" as he wishes. The bad news is that the narrator is herself ambivalent, getting mixed signals from him and feeling mixed desires within herself (except for a steady love for him and desire to please him). So as this altered marital relationship changes further and she feels her way unsteadily through her own uncertainties, the incidents as experienced by the reader tend to be tainted by guilty unease. And there're no compensating joyous intervals of intimacy we can share or celebrate because a curtain of modesty descends on their marital bed each time we're told they got together. The author herself may be feeling her own way through this narrative, respecting its intricacy and integrity as it goes. So do I. I enjoy that aspect of it enormously (that's what's fresh, maintaining the story well above routine femdom feminizing fantasies). Which brings me back to the good news, that we'll all get to see at length where this goes and how it ends up. Whether sorrowful, conflicted (as now), or joyous I have no idea. |
