| Post transition woman is trying to change her original assertion, which is that “shemales. . . are not transsexuals if they do not intend to have SRS” (see her original comment below) to NOW contend that “I seem to have given the impression that I do not count shemales as transsexuals [sic].” Now, Post, you didn’t create such an “impression’; you stated, very clearly, that ““shemales. . . are not transexuals [sic] if they do not intend to have SRS.” We may not have allowed some idiot to castrate us, but we aren’t misled by your disingenuous tweaking of the truth. (By the way, “transsexual” is spelled with two s’s, not one. If you claim to be one, you ought to learn how to spell the word. Geesh!) ORIGINAL COMMENT Umm its all well and good that you like shemales and all but just FYI and all a transexual is someone who intends to or already HAS HAD sexual reasignment surgery. So to be correct, although Shemales are transgendered individuals they are not transexuals if they do not intend to have SRS. NEW, WEASEL-WORDED COMMENT Even though it may do no more good I will try one more time to explain how the terms are difrent. First off somehow I seems to have given the impression that I do not count shemales as transexuals. They are BUT this does not mean the words are interchangeable. The term transexual describes many MORE people than shemale does. When you say the word transexual you encompas Shemales, operative Mtfs like my self, preoperative FtMs and post operative FTMs. The word Shemale describes only ONE of these groups. To use the word transexual interchangably with Shemale in the way many of the reviers have here and how the poet has in place in his poem is wrong because it limits the meaning of the word to one fourth of the people its describes.
