It is a interesting story but it is marred by its terrible over length. The author's writing style is horribley over verbose, and the dialogue of the characters is very unrealistic throughout much of this story. The story could have been easially half its length. Much of this author's other work suffers from the same flaws.

The author did another fine story about Aunt Jane. Her dismay over the way the boy acts and the method that is used against his mother once the truth is known makes the reader interested until the last word. It is easy to visualize the the feelings of each of the characters as Tigger relates the story and if a readers mood is right they can play deeply on the reader. I was so enthralled that I could not stand to stop reading it, just like an excellant novel that you just can't put down until you've read the last word. APPLAUSE APPLAUSE
Tales of the Season: Kendra's Story     Details
I found the story very hard to read. Not because it wasn't well writen, but because it was! A little disappointed in the ending, as I felt the reunion with Charlotte could have been dealt with. Hope there is a sequel to tie up some of the loose ends.

I don't know how she does it but KT Pel just nails every little detail of the story every single time. I mentioned of the last episode that it'd be good to know more about what's happening with Fran and that pretty soon Sara would need something more to hold over Julian than Bethany's recovering nose and not only did KT Pel deliver but she used the one to solve the other in a way that drives the story forward and raises the stakes for poor Julian. The way KT Pel answers every question with events which only deepen the mystery shows that there is a master plan at work behind her writing that has been operating for quite some time. On top of all that, KT Pel knows exactly how to express the emotion of every scene so that the reader can taste what Julian goes through. The imagery is laid out with enough detail to paint a picture but not so much as to belabour the point and scenes are paced in a way that avoids the awkwardness of scripting every minor action and little piece of dialogue. Perhaps most precious of all, KT Pel preserves Julian's defiance of his enforced roll and his autonomy as a character, adroitly avoiding the pitfalls which trap the authors of many lesser stories. There are only two complaints I can level at KT Pel as an author. The first is that each part of the story suffers from occasional errors in grammar and sentence construction which should easily be caught by proofreading. The second is that she is only human and so cannot produce stories nearly fast enough to satisfy her readership's ravenous hunger for writing of this caliber. The tale of Julian is simply the best series to be posted on Fictionmania in recent memory and long may it continue. PS; If KT Pel publishes this story as a book, I have no doubt many of us would buy it in order to support and encourage her writing. What's more, an illustrated work would command a respectable price. The tale of Julian is so good that I'm on the verge of throwing money at my screen in appreciation.
