| Well, how wonderful! Janet, I'm astonished at how compressed you've made the whole transformation of Mary's discovery of her desires, racing toward the finish line as a female...I usually enjoy a more lingering, step by step pacing thru a series of experiences, mishaps, self-discoveries and comparisons and little changes, which comprise the more typical tale. But there's a virtue in what you've done, allowing us to enjoy Mary's matter-of-fact recogntion of her true self, with her eager getting into it in every way, all in 15 pages. There are many terrific sentences that brought me up short with their bluntness and insight(I tend to beat around the bush in real life and in fantasy writing; you help me cut thru the excess and the garbage); I also admire your imaginative stretching and willingness to take new risks in plotting and character. The Y2K story is a good example of your cleverness. I'm sure you'll keep writing--Have you gotten print-published anywhere yet? My beloved Sandy Thomas (See MAGS listing at the LINKS)would likely want to see some things of yours, perhaps two novellettes that would fill out one of her 75-80pp. pink books. She's really wonderful to deal with; her many titles include approved reprints of the old VPrince/Chevalier titles, several of which she and friends have updated and reissued in a more modern tone. I suggest her to you, of course, because of the strongly shared Positive/ Supportive philosophy toward dressing, TG consciousness and lately the full transformations which more and more younger writers want to explore. At 56 and 'stuck' in my rare, longterm childhood effeminization which was cut off brutally at 13, I've never fully embraced an adult Tina-persona. But I actively support others of all types, and may yet find my way back out of the closet with the new century....Sorry if this sounds like CHAT: The library here forbids those uses, for the most part. When I get a story on FicMania (no scanner access yet), I hope you'll give me some feedback. Bye again, Tina. |
