| nice story! I also wondered what happened upstairs with the 2 girls. Excellent detail work helped make this believable. The ending was forced and too brief. Perhaps that might have been the moment he accepted being black, while another time earlier he accepted being female (Maybe while dancing with the guy)? revelations like the ending seldom occur all in one moment, and when they happen in one paragraph they seem forced upon the reader. Other than the ending it was a very interesting storyt overall! Thanks for sharing it with us! |

| Okay, Heidi, very funny joke you played on us .... Now, please finish the story!!!! Just kidding. This is a very sweet and heartfelt piece of writing. I only wish it could have gone on much, much longer. The contrast between John's world and that of his father and brothers hits home, and the relationship between mother and son just cries out for a sequel .... Great job!!! |
