Very good read. Paul has an excellent feel for time and place. The two females characters are especially well done and Stans transformation into Ann is well done |

I have read all the glowing reviews for this piece, and I must say that in my opinion, none of them do the proper justice. This story is a masterpiece. I have been at this site for years now, and I must say that this is perhaps the best story I have read here, and one of the best I have ever read. You often hear the term breathtaking associated with works of art. When applied to others, I often feel it is reckless hyperbole; after reading this story, I was literally breathless. To say this work would stand alone as a great work of fantasy while great praise for most of what is posted here, demeans the sheer beauty and skill of this Chris Leeson's masterpiece. The only comparable I can think of is the incomparable intensely spiritual surrealism of Jorge Luis Borges (see his short story collections, Labyrniths among others).%0a%0aEach segment is beautifully interwoven like an intricate arabian tapestry. The exposition is vivid and enthralling, with each scene containing deliberate intent. Leeson uses the classical formula of the multistage redemption, most recently seen in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, but does it in an amazing way. From the incredibly apt title, to the last word, I was captured.%0a%0aTrue, the TG content is limited, but it is used, and it is integral to the story. I cannot find fault for that.%0a%0aI have recently been impressed by Maggie Finson's twist on the macabre spiritualism of Spawn, to PJ Wright's delightful direct and compelling style. None has until now approached, however, the love I have for Elizabeth Bennett's florid Austenesque prose, none until this story. For style, Bennett can't be topped, but as for an amazing complete package, Noel is a winner, hands down. |

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and found it an immense turn on in many places, please continue with it. More descriptions of his Doll Form is a must, as is his thoughts as he finally succumbs to realising what he has become.I loved it and would love to take his place. Any volunteers?Cheers,Ghost. |
