| I wrote this review directly to your email address a few weeks ago, but it was returned by the server as undeliverable. However as a Tuck fan I feel I had to take this opportunity to congratulate on another fine effort:- You may remember I wrote to you about 'I am not alone' a few months ago. I suppose I must be becoming a fan! It's certainly odd that non-fan fiction springs from fan fiction. Evolution rules OK! I don't normally read M to F TG stories (I wonder why?), but as it was you and had a tenuous connection with Tuck I read it anyway. Glad I did, as it's a great story, and perhaps it'll be a vehicle to get you to meld and continue with the Valerie section as well. Are there really people who empathise with each other the way both you and Ellen Hayes imply in your writing? I certainly hope it's not just wishful thinking on your behalf. I can't say that the life style of Andi and her new friends appeals to me particularly, but they sure seem to enjoy it and you write about it so well. I'm glad her parents are so supportive. (It must be a good story I'm writing as though they really exist!) Thanks for your efforts. Please continue to keep me both enlightened and entertained. |

Whoa! I wandered onto this story by accident, but I'm quite impressed. I was thinking of e-mailing the author just to say I enjoyed it, but this review thing seems like a pretty cool idea. So here goes. No Special Effects is a very special story. I was very suprised and happy to find that the author doesn't focus on the sex scenes like so many others. Rather, the focus is on transgender and the feelings that the main character has towards that. One thing I really liked was the way that Nick changed into a girl. I like that he chose to be a girl and how he kept saying that it felt natural. That is exactly the way I'd imagine it feeling. It was pretty cool how it didn't happen quickly either. Nick had time to assess how he felt about the whole thing. I liked the interaction between Nick and Neera. Neera seems to act like a real girl would. Or at least like I wish one would. :) I was almost in love with her myself. I noticed when Nick's mind took over in the story because he started talking so eloquently. At first I thought maybe he was just really eccentric, but then at the end you learn that it was all in his head. Wow! That was so cool. So in conclusion, I think this is one of the best TG stories I have ever read. Usually when I read a TG story, I don't like something about it, but everything about this story is good. I think that this story should be a role model for all other TG stories. Leviathan |
