| Jennifer weaves in subtle details as only she can, and ends with a sweet and strangely romantic point in this "you can have your cake and eat it too" story. Speaking as someone who once actually got all the way to my hotel room before finding that there can indeed be two identical blue denim suitcases on the same flight from Hong Kong makes it all so believable to me. Nicely told and sweet story. |

| Ritual castration is the mountain top of TG fiction. Sandy's attention to surgical detail really makes this story stand out. I especially enjoyed the dramatic pauses and the time this allowed us to prepare for the "Moment". My only suggestion would be to have Jane restrained in a ritual castration device that permitted her scrotum to dangle to its full length. Oh and I am partial to full wedding gowns with sheer lace necks, the honour of castration taking part of a solemn ceremony. |

| A beautiful story. Not many stories bring me this close to tears, but this one did. However, I think I would have liked to see more examination of the ethical dilemma this situation creates. I imagine a person in David's situation would have to overcome a great deal of guilt initially. If it were me, I would immediately wonder, "is this fair to Amy's mother, or is this just a cruel joke played on her by medical science?" After all, her child is gone, at least from this world. Only the body remains. Or does it? The story seems to imply that some of Amy's "spirit", if you will, remained behind as a comfort to David in his new role. This bond between the two of them should have been examined in more detail. And I too believe the story was completed much too quickly. The adjustment to being Amy is bound to be a long, slow, painful one for David. I would have liked to experience some of that mental anguish with him as he tried to adjust, while the spirit of Amy tried to console him in the deep recesses of his mind. Perhaps there can be a sequel, with David's father from the first story performing the procedure on yet another pair of individuals. Perhaps the author can include a scene in which the doctor briefly sees Amy/David again. It would make for a very poignant reconciliation. |
