The Sissymaker     Details
Okay, Heidi, very funny joke you played on us .... Now, please finish the story!!!! Just kidding. This is a very sweet and heartfelt piece of writing. I only wish it could have gone on much, much longer. The contrast between John's world and that of his father and brothers hits home, and the relationship between mother and son just cries out for a sequel .... Great job!!!

A very nicely constructed story to connect two of the more favourite universes. A man given a choice, that really is no choice at all.
Bikini Beach: A Private Matter     Details
This is probably one of the best, if not the best story on the web. This story takes me back to when I was a teen.While this story can stand on its own without a sequel, I sure do hope one is coming. Excellent story!
Alex's Story     Details
A really good story. If you like seeing someone forced into doing sexual acts against their will this is it. I'd have to say that some of the things that Cathy was forced to do made me cringe though. I'm not sure *anybody* should have been controled in such a manner. I guess the moral here is the only thing worse than someone making you do something is you doing them volantarily. Did anybody read "1984" by George Orwell? This story reminded me of that book in a lot of ways. The voice of Susan was kind of like Big Brother. I wonder if this story was inspired by that book? I don't know. I think the main difference between the book and this story (besides the sex) was that Carl didn't realize that doing what Susan wanted him to do wasn't real freedom. It would have been more noble of Carl to fight Susan the whole way, forcing her to control him the entire time. For this reason, I found myself really disliking Carl/Cathy. I admired him/her more when she slaped the man's hand away than when she tried to justify doing what she was told. In the end, though, I just really didn't care for the main character. It was especially mean to make Carl/Cathy disgrace herself in front of her family like that. How cruel! I guess the author wanted to take away all of the main character's pride. It worked, and I felt there wasn't anything left to like about her/him. I don't think I've ever seen the part-robot-body thing used before. This was a very interesting idea, and it fit perfectly with the military theme. It's amazing that other authors don't use this concept more often. I suppose the reason why is that it is harder to write. I would actually enjoy seeing a sequal to this story that deals with what kind of technology was used to make Cathy. And speaking of sequals, I wouldn't mind seeing one where Cathy gets to do some actual spy-work. That would be great! I guess this is asking too much though. Also, the letter idea was a very cool thing. I enjoyed the little twist at the end where Susan found out what was going on. HAHAHA. I guess Cathy shouldn't have wasted so much time writing. It really was a good way to end the story. Leviathan
